Hello! I hope everyone's having a nice Veteran's/ Remembrance Day. Today my dad bought me a poppy. And last Sunday I went to see a Remembrance Day parade. It was really nice. :)
I have finished knitting up a pair of socks! Now I'm working on finally finishing my cardigan. It is taking much too long but at least now all I have to knit is the sleeves!

My new layout for autumn is here as well as the revelation of my new site name, Pine Needles! My site had been named Poke a Dot for three years and it just felt like time to change. :) I'm very happy with this layout!
Aren't the aesthetics of autumn beautiful! I love the subtle earth tones of grass and underbrush as well as the vibrantly colored leaves. I just wish daylight would last longer... And I also wish it would rain on days that it isn't sunny. The drearist day for me is when the sky is gray but it doesn't rain.
Speaking of rain, while it lightly rained two days ago, my sister and I sat in our garden shed and carved jack-o-lanterns. I carved an owl design onto mine. ^U^

I have a new autumn layout made. I plan to put it up very soon! I like it a lot and I'm excited to put it up. I'm also changing my site name. I feel like my site has changed a lot and I have outgrown the name Poke a Dot. I'll let my new site name be a surprise! :D

I crocheted an amigurumi elephant for my teenage sister as a birthday present. She liked her a lot and named her Effie Stubbs. :P The pattern is free from LionBrand.com.

I sewed a knitting needle case! It's pretty neat. It rolls up and has 25 pockets (a lot of space!). I used this tutorial from Multicrafty: link. I cut the fabric a bit shorter than suggested because I don't have very long needles. Sewing is a lot of fun. I'm glad I decided to learn! Last week I bought a few patterns for skirts and dresses I hope to make. It might be a little while before I make them though. I'd like to knit some Christmas presents first!

I have finally finished my soda pop bag! I began making it last February! It wouldn't have taken so long to finish but I procrastinated learning how to use the sewing machine. I had the outer bag done by mid-March. It's made with 160 soda pop tabs.
I crocheted the hexagons using this tuorial from craftster: link. I knitted the diamond and triangle shapes. :)
The lining is my second sewing project! I have started a new sewing project: a knitting needle case!

Autumn is near! It's chilly here and the leaves are slowly starting to change colors. I'm not enthusiatic about it getting dark earlier but I am happy to be doing school work again!

My birthday was last week! I'm seventeen now. ^U^ I had a small celebration at home. I ate brownies and ice cream. :P My parents bought me a crochet and knitting stitch dictionary and some new yarn. My sister bought me a nice photo frame. <3
.
I finally finished my summer sun hat! It was based on the Audrey Hat pattern in the Spring 2009 issue of Interweave Crochet. My craft store however didn't sell the weight of yarn suggested so I decided to try crocheting it with a heavier weight. It was very frustrating! I ripped it out many times, but now I am finally done, and I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.

I started knitting a new bag on July 1st using a pattern from the book Stitch Style Bags: 20 Fashion Knit and Crochet Patterns. I finished on July 12th. Contrary to the pattern, I knitted the straps in Irish Moss Stitch.

On the site, I've updated my reading list and the last special adoption pixel has been adopted.
